Gift in the limelight
So the king and Haman went to Queen Esther’s banquet, and as they were drinking wine on the second day, the king again asked, “Queen Esther, what is your petition? It will be given you. What is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be granted.”
- Esther 7:1-2
After her courageous initial approach to the king and two banquets, the time has finally come for Esther to reveal to the king her important request.
Two weeks ago, we talked about how Esther had been keeping the good gift of her ethnicity a secret during her life in the king’s palace. Now, her gift explodes into the limelight and derails the train that was moving toward the annihilation of her people.
Is there a gift you been waiting to apply and unleash?
Take a few minutes today to sit quietly before the Lord and ask him if there’s something you’ve been given way back in the past that you need to be putting to work today. Listen for him to guide you.
If something comes to mind, thank the Lord and get to work. If nothing comes to mind, thank the Lord and tell him that you’re available if he has something for you to do.
