Not too late

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born …
- from Luke 2:6-7

It’s not too late for you to have the best Christmas ever.

Whether you’re ready or not, Christmas is coming.
Whether you like it or not, Christmas is coming.
Whether you’re in the mood or not, Christmas is coming.
Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, Christmas is coming.
You can’t stop Christmas.

To paraphrase one of our favorite doctors: “He couldn’t stop Christmas from coming. It came! Somehow or other it came just the same. It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags.” Now, you might have puzzled and puzzled over this 'till your puzzler was sore. But this has been true since the very first Christmas.

That first Christmas Day was a rough day to have a baby. Joseph and Mary were far from the comforts of home. They weren’t married, which in their culture would have brought massive discomfort as they spent time with relatives. This wasn’t how they’d have chosen for the first Christmas to go. But Christmas came anyway.

It’s not too late for you to have a great Christmas. We don’t get a choice as to whether or not Christmas comes. We do choose how we celebrate it.

Who do you need to call to reconcile with this Christmas?
Who are you going to invite to join you for Christmas Eve services?
What needs to happen inside of you or around you to make this the best Christmas ever?
