Reaching out at Christmas

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
- Luke 2:15

'Christmas is for everyone.

Tomorrow we’ll be celebrating Christmas Eve as a church. We truly believe that the good news of Jesus’ birth is good news for everyone. Jesus entered into our common story so that each and every one of us can be connected to God and to each other.

Somewhere out there is someone who needs to hear this good news. Somewhere out there is someone who doesn’t think that Christmas is for them. They’re bracing themselves for another Christmas alone. They’re settling for the same old same old.

What if you could play the role of a Christmas angel to them, inviting them to share in Christmas? What a wonderful surprise it might be for them to be included.

Our services are at 4:30, 6:00, and 7:30pm. We’ll have cookies and carols and Christmas. We’ll celebrate Jesus together.

Would you be willing to take a risk and reach out to someone today?

It could be this simple: I don’t know if you already have plans for Christmas Eve, but I’m going to a Christmas Eve service at my church. We’ll have cookies and carols and a reflection on the Christmas story. Would you be interested in joining us?

Who can you surprise with a Christmas invitation this year?
