Worth Rearranging Your Life

1

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
- Matthew 13:44-46

The parables in this week’s passage both contain disruptive moments. Both of the men sell everything they have to acquire an object of great value. They go all in.

What would it take for you to go all in for something? We’ve been kicking this around here in the office. Neither of us would sell everything we had in order to buy a pearl. That pearl could be the size of a Buick and covered in autographs from all of our favorite athletes and we still wouldn’t buy it.

But we all do have things that we’ll go all in for. We’ll scrap our plans for the day if the right opportunities arise. We’ll adjust our finances for the right cause. We’ll make huge vocational and relational changes under the right conditions.

What do you consider to be so worthwhile that you’ll rearrange your life?

This question can give you insight into your priorities, your dreams, and the challenges of your current life situation. We don’t ask the question to generate feelings of guilt and shame. (God loves and accepts us!) We ask the question to generate insight and, perhaps, action.

What do you consider to be so worthwhile that you’ll rearrange your life?

Peace and serenity, Recently that meant changing anti-depressants to get over feeling stress and depression. It could also mean upping the amount of prayer and Bible Study. Need to get back to the list of 3 chapters a day to get through the New Testament, Thank you Steve,
