Take some time to study the Bible on your own or with your friends. Print out copies of the passage. Underline, highlight, circle, connect, draw pictures and write notes to your heart's content.
Here are some questions that can help you study any passage:
- What does the text say? (look for repeated words or phrases, key words or ideas, verb tenses, connecting words)
- What does the passage mean? (think about what the author wants you to know, look for big ideas, identify questions the passage raises for you)
- What does the passage mean for me? (think about how you'll respond to what you've read and what emotions it produces for you)
